Pelicans Perch Marina is the trade name for Audusson Marina, LLC which was formed by the daughter and son of Capt. Shirley J. Brown, a long time waterfront figure and towboat fleet operator in Pensacola and the Gulf Coast. Capt. Brown formed Brown Marine Service, Inc. in 1958 to incorporate his small tugboat and marina operation in Pensacola, Florida. Capt. Brown had contracts with the Oil companies to transport gasoline and diesel by tank barge from the refineries in Texas and Louisiana to Florida. The Company grew and so did his Marina on Bayou Chico in Pensacola which came to be known as Brown's Marina. Capt. Brown died in 2005 and Shirley and Ted, his daughter and son, embarked on a massive cleanup and renovation of the Marina along with a name change. Day to day management was contracted to Marina's International, a well known marina management firm. Today Pelicans Perch Marina is Pensacola's most affordable and sheltered marina, providing services and equipment that boaters need. Well established, insured contractors are on-site at the renovated boat yard and assist in the proper care of customers boats. Future growth concepts include hotel/motel site, waterfront restrauant, and other related possibilites on the 12 acres that comprises the property. |
